The Primiero Dolomiti Marathon course has an elevation gain of 1242 m and an elevation loss of 1543 m.
Athletes will run immersed in the uncontaminated nature, in a wonderful territory to be discovered.
Start: Villa Welsperg in Val Canali Finish: Fiera di Primiero (village center)
The start is next to the Villa Welsperg in Val Canali, one of the most beautiful valleys in the Dolomites. Villa Welsperg was built in the mid nineteenth century and is the headquarters of the Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Natural Park.
he course goes through panoramic roads and paths in Primiero Valley, crosses San Martino di Castrozza and arrives in the center of Fiera di Primiero.
After the start next to the Villa Welsperg, the road climbs to Località Piereni, at the foot of the Pale di San Martino. After passing by a meadow, you will run in the wood to reach Località Belvedere, Strine, Poline and Dagnoli with an amazing view on the Valley and on the Lagorai mountain range.
A path in the wood takes you to Prati Ronzi, where you will find a forest road and then a path leading to Sora Ronz. In a short time you will reach San Martino di Castrozza passing by Malga Val di Roda and Prati Col. After San Martino, you will take the forest road to Malga Crel, arriving at the Calaita Lake, the highest point of the course. The course goes then through Lozen Valley and reaches the Gobbera Pass. A mountain road takes you to the finish line in Fiera di Primiero.
